Hello, world. I’m Matt…

Hello.

IMAG1235 2I thought that would be most appropriate for my first post on my new website. Having taken care of that, let me tell you all a little about myself. Sure, you could go over to my ‘about‘ page and learn something of me there, but my biographers can be insufferably impersonal.

I am something of an old dog learning new tricks. I graduated from East Carolina University in 1996 with a B.A. in Communication Arts. Since then, I have worked for many years in the print industry as a Graphic Designer and in other capacities. I know a lot about design and production.

Websites, on the other hand, are new to me – even though they’re not new. I’ve kept my nose so close to the grindstone that I’ve not looked up to notice the world changing, or if I did, I thought it better to keep on doing what I knew best.

But, the world changes, and it won’t stop just because I might desire that it remain familiar. So, here I am, in school again learning to be a screenwriter and, while doing so, adding to my technical skills and creating my very first website. I hope that all you will be patient with me as I adjust to a new medium, as well as new career, and stick with me as I grow. It will be a grind, but I’m looking forward to the days ahead.
